ART of CLIMBING TREES
and other
ART of HENRIK G DAHLE & Co
It is work found in the book alongside other related material and projects; tangental experiments and derivatives, such as World Piece Maker vintage tin globe jewellery, with a poem booklet about eutopia. A project I hoped would keep me in pocket to continue writing.
I try to create consciously, with a low impact on the environment. Art of Climbing Trees is printed on paper from the ‘most sustainable factory in the world’, so they told me. I’ve roughly calculated its environmental footprint, included in the last page of the book, and it’ll be found here soon). Glass in framed prints is harvested from the dump or shops, frames are hand made from local wood, and trees are planted.
For Art of Climbing Trees, all I did was put one hand above another, ascending into the branches every day for a year, supported by a weighty heartwood. I’ve since invested 15 years, and now printed 1000 copies, because I believe my walkabout and research has delivered something gently powerful, like the trees themselves.

The story of ‘Queen of the Forest’ prints below, and those featured in Art of Climbing Trees LTD Edition, can be found here.
