Shú Mu is an artist’s mannequin who dreams of becoming a tree again.
The image is from Tree 237 in Art of Climbing Trees, which includes Shú Mu’s story.Shú Mu was made in China. Shú means tree, and mu is wood, in Chinese.
The image was created my combining photographs of the Shú Mu’s Dream sculpture – an artist’s mannequin with hemp roots protruding from its body – cradled by found roots that were dug up by wild boar. The sculpture is set against a cork oak bark backdrop, combined with photos of bushes in Portugal, and a heavy sky.
Size: A1 including a white margin.
